This is an amazing car repair center. The mechanics are honest. In addition, the staffs are friendly and professional. I called to ask for a rush on my car repair because I had to go out of town for a conference and pleaded them to repair my car early. The front desk staff went out of his way and find someone to pick up the parts from the Toyota Dealership. I was able to get my car early and did not have to rent a car to attend the conference.
I have a Lexus RX330 and it has all the latest tricks. The staff at Yarnell's is really good at taking care of this car.
They are the most honest and trustworthy people I have ever dealt with, in an industry that is notorious for over charging and under fixing. They get me in quickly, and get the job done right.
I won't take my car anywhere else. In fact, when I need to replace this car, I will look for a car I like, that is on their service list.
Pretty much the friendliest staff ever!! I took my car in because I was unable to unscrew the license plate.
No appointment nothing, they took care of it and the guy (Rick) worked on it for about 20 minutes with no charge and did not even accept my tip.
THanks guys! You have my full trust.
I found Yarnell via Angie's List and Yelp after a scam-ridden dealer experience (where they attempted to charge me $599 for a 30K service, among other things--thanks so much, Magnussen's Toyota of Palo Alto).
Yarnell's managed to complete my 30K service and evaluate three other problems (airbag, flat tire, and automatic seat folding issue) for less than HALF of what Magnussen's was planning to rob from me. Trevor was friendly, professional, efficient, personable and a pleasure to deal with. He called twice to make sure that I hadn't forgotten to pick up my car before the weekend, and was very creative in jury-rigging a (free!!) solution to my carseat folding problem, when the official fix would have cost me over $1,000 in parts alone.
Thanks so much, Yarnell's! You've made a fan for life.
These guys have always been my goto for my Toyota Truck. They have good rates, works gets done on time, and they don't up sell you on unneeded work. I recommend this shop to anyone with a Toyota vehicle.
Used to go to Yarnell's, stopped when we sold our old Toyota. Finally got tired of taking my Prius to Palo Alto Toyota, with its combination of high cost and less-than-friendly checkout service. So tried Yarnell's again.
First experience: Replacing interior light bulbs, which they did fast and inexpensively, but then used a wrong bulb so things weren't really done so well. But corrected all that on a second visit.
Second experience: Helped replace batteries in both my keys, on the spot, fast, for just the cost of the batteries. Way cool.
Third experience: 60K service and fixed a noisy fan and test-drove it, for $340. Incredible price. (All the parts were ridiculously inexpensive.) Left it out for me to pick up as planned. Couldn't duplicate the noises I suspect are still there, though. And used 10W30 oil, whereas 5W30 is the usual preference for Priuses in my experience.
Very competent and agreeable service managers.
So, I might agree with a few of the concerns, while still saying I'm quite happy with them. I think they have a little more they can do well, on the details of getting it right and finding economies.
(Couldn't decide whether to go with 4 or 5 stars. For now, we'll call it 5, to compensate for some unfairly low rankings they got elsewhere....)
I've had brake vibration issues with my 2002 Toyota Tacoma for 8 years. Issue was not major, it was the cheapo lifetime brake service that Midas was giving me. They were too hard and were warping my rotors. After multiple brake adjustments, replacements, and resurfacing at Midas, I went to Yarnell's. Midas folks either had no idea what they were doing or were lyeing to me. It's been a few months and I have not had the issue come up again. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Loved the no BS, straight forward conversations.
I've taken my vehicles to Yarnell's since 1985. The staff is knowledgeable, and they are good about letting me know what maintenance should be done.
I find their service to be fast and the pricing very reasonable. I have never had a problem with their work during all the years they have been servicing my cars. I had bad experiences with local dealers before I came to them and would never consider taking my car anywhere else.
Love their service. I trust them with my cars, and that is saying a lot, since I don't trust auto mechanics.
Last week our 2001 Toyota Solara was having issues with the brakes. We expected that we might need new brakes on the front and possibly the back, as well. I expected to pay $400+, however Yarnell's adjusted and cleaned the brakes for a total bill of $56 today. They mentioned that the pads had at least 75% left in the front & 55% left in the back. They did an excellent and honest job. We will be bringing all of our cars there from now on. Thank you Yarnells's!!!
